Cambridge Lower Secondary

Cambridge Lower Secondary (Key Stage 3) is typically for learners aged 12 to 15 years, namely Year 7 to Year 9. It builds on the foundations of Cambridge Primary, although it is not essential to have completed that stage before beginning Cambridge Lower Secondary. It is a three year course which forms the foundation for the Cambridge IGCSE programme.

The programme develops learners’ skills and understanding in English, Mathematics, and Science. In order to groom all rounded individuals in Academics, subjects such as Malay, Foreign Language Mandarin Chinese, History, Geography, Art & Design, Computer and Character Training are also offered to Year 7 to Year 9 learners.

Cambridge IGCSE

Learners from Cambridge Lower Secondary will automatically progress to Cambridge IGCSE (Key Stage 4).

Subjects offered to Cambridge IGCSE, namely Year 10 to Year 11, learners are grouped into five curriculum areas (subjects updated as of 2024 academic year):

At the end of Key Stage 4, Year 11 learners sit for the externally assessed Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE) IGCSE Examinations.

Sri Sempurna International School takes Foreign Language Mandarin Chinese and Foreign Language Malay papers in the May/June series whereas the rest are taken in the October/November series of the same academic year. Results are released in August and January respectively.

Cambridge IGCSE provides preparation for the Cambridge Advanced stage including Cambridge International AS, A Levels, Cambridge Pre-U as well as other progression routes.
